Gaping heads; Fries Museum

A copy is made from the original wooden head. An investigation was done to find the original colours.

During the restoration the head[s] were cleaned and brought back into the original colours. The helmet is done in platina and some parts were finished in gold.The original head will be placed in the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden; the copy will be placed on a front [gap] in the centre of the town of Leeuwarden.
